World's Greatest Tool Box!

How cute is this toolbox? It's a Needs A Ribbon original. I was inspired by some I had seen on Pinterest. I made this back in early January. It is made using the retiring Build It framelits from Stampin' Up! And the Urban Underground embellishments. I believe that is Pool Party, not Soft Sky, and Early Espresso cardstock. Along with the Copper Foil cardstock.

You can see from this detail close up that I actually stamped the woodgrain, then cut each piece apart and distressed each edge and cut each piece as if it were a real 2x4.  This isn't one of these project where you would make a lot of them. I made one. It was a lot of fun and I loved how it turned out, but it did take quite a bit of time.

I did cut out the two pieces for each tool twice, once in the copper foil and then stamped in black and cut out again, using the framelits It looks pretty authentic for paper tools.

I aged up the copper foil using black StaZon actually. It dried quicker and eliminated some of the smearing you might get from other inks on the foil paper.

I properly edged the top of the tool box pocket and the handle. Each piece was sponged to distress and age it.

That hammer looks like it could have been one of my dads old ones!

Throwing in this: one of my display shelves in my studio. Here are some of the guy cards i have shared over the last few months. They are scattered around my space on various displays right now. I still have not added up how many I have made. It has been an awful lot of them. And I still want to make more. I will be keeping my Urban Underground product suite of stamps (Nailed It, Urban District) and my Build It framelits for the time being, even though they are retiring (sniff sniff).

Here is a storage tip. I have taken one of the empty stamp cases you can purchase and have 4 of them, filled with various colors of extra tools. Makes for quick cards! I have one for silver foil, gold foil, copper foil, and cardstock tools.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have been enjoying all my Urban Underground project posts over the last few months. Nope, I still have more to share!!! Believe it or not, I made all these projects over a day and a half of crafting.
