PPC #1

Here is my response to the first Palette Party Challenge. I will do my best in the future to post supply list but have been busy this week prepping for the big Spring Spectacular this Saturday. I enjoyed the challenge. I do love color and playing with combinations. Monday I will post a new challenge. I may not always respond by making a card. It may be a card, scrapbook home decor item or a gift. I like to mix it up. Thanks for stopping by. Sandy

NEW*** Palette Party Challenge

Hello crafters! I am starting a new thing for my blog. Every Monday I will post a new color combination and I challenge you and myself to create something using the selected colors. I call it my Palette Party Challenge. Please send me your version to needsaribbon@gmail.com and I will post them on my blog. I will answer the challenge myself by Thursday of that week. Are you ready? Do you accept the challenge as presented? GO!!!

Doilies Delight

What's old is new again, right? I am working on major purging in the house and found these at the bottom of a stack of cardboard. They are pilfered from my mom, vintage 1970s and 80s. Doilies are back in fashion. The Spring mini catalog from Stampin' Up! Has them. I need to post item number and price but I think it's $2.95 for 20. They are fun, vintage, and can be colored or altered. Try using just a portion. My homemade Valentines in grade school always had to have a doily heart. How do you or did you used to use them?

ScrapScape All Day Scrap Event

This Saturday February 23 11-11 at my house. All are welcome. Cost is Free with a $30 catalog order or $30 worth of my retired stuff for sale. Event is open come as you can. Come and set up shop for the day and crop your cares away. Big table space and comfy office chairs on wheels. Big Shot. And more. So much fun, so little time. Hope to see you there. The picture I grabbed from Pinterest (my new addiction) and is probably my favorite color palette. Plus as bloody cold as it is here today makes me think warm sun and beaches and shorts.

My V Card

Since I am involved in so much social media with my Stampin' Up! Biz I came up with my own version of a V Card done in My Digital Studio. I saved it a a .jpeg so it will be easy to post to place and print out. The only draw back is they are not clickable links. Working on other solutions. What do you think?     Maybe you want to print and save this in a special location. Thanks for stopping by today.

Scrap: Fun Zone

So far my invisibility cloak is holding out and my family is leaving me alone to scrap. I won't post all my pages as some are rather simple. My goal is to get through this one box of photos I have had gathered for probably a decade. Seriously! Just a simple one pager about our former fun zone area. We added and took away features as the kids grew. Now all that remains is the balance beam. And that needs to go. It was fun being able to offer all that to the kids. It did become a problem at times as one set of neighbor kids just came over when they felt like it. Eventually as our own got older they could go to the neighborhood park themselves or with Papa when they were younger. We had plans to fill in the area with sand or pea rock or something and make a road around it. Our time ended up going in a different direction. I know our own kids are appreciative for what they had in their own backyard. Thank you for stopping by. Happy stamping, Sandy

Scrap: Gregarious Gretchen

Getting back into the grove of traditional paper and picture scrapbooking after years of digital (still just love it) just to deal with the mounds of already printed pictures. Like? Sorry picture is sideways. Posted from my phone.

Santana Chimney

I made this as a trial item. Meant to fill with treats and either gift or sell them. Didn't happen, this year anyway. Supplies - lattice embossing folder Cherry cobbler cardstock - and early espresso and whisper white. Scallop edge punch. Early Espresso ink and sponge. Sticky strip. Cut two pieces cobbler to 5.5" x 6" Score 3, 5 along the short edge of both. Score 4.5 other direction both pieces. Run each thru Big Shot using the lattice folder. Not all of it will fit, just be sure to get the visible parts. Sponge all edges with espresso ink Score whisper white 1 x 11 strip at 1/4" punch other edge with scallop punch. Sponge edges with espresso ink. Attach punch edge white edge folded over to cobbler assembly with sticky strip. Assemble box. You will have to trim box bottom and white scallop pieces. Attach chimney to a piece of espresso or "roof" of your choice. Fill with treats. Thanks for stopping by. Happy stamping, Sandy
