Pretty Please - With a Cherry on Top

Pretty please with a rhinestone on top and a much needed ribbon! I am asking you to take a survey because I want to get to know you and your habits and needs more.  Please take the about ten minutes it will take to fill it out. Heck, I may only take you one minute depending on your needs or current crafting situation. I am taking the feedback I get seriously. I really want to know what you would like to see from me as far as offerings. You might be surprised when you take the survey by something I have been thinking about for a few years. And I will not spoil it. You have to take the survey to see what I mean. Just my little carrot I am dangling in front of you. ;) It goes without saying but needs to be said anyway. I really, really, really appreciate those of you that take the few minutes to fill out the survey. It will help guide my future plans.    Keep being creative, much love from me, Sandy TAKE THE SURVEY I adore you for doing so...

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Somewhere over the rainbow lies these cute little ladybugs.  I tried my hand at another slimline card. I thought the slimline card format lent it self well to this idea for a rainbow card.  Using a blending brush I selected colors more in regals family of colors of a ROYGBIV rainbow -  Blackberry Bliss, Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Garden Green, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler. I brushed an arc of each color, blending the bands of color into each other.  Using the Hello Ladybugs bundle I made the ROYGBIV coordinating ladybugs. Sometimes I just need a rainbow to help me smile! Look at Things Differently

Recently when I was scrolling Instagram I had an inspiration. I was looking at my phone sideways and scrolled past a card that used the Horizon Dies. The die in the set I am talking about is the mountain range silhouette die. Again, I saw it sideways, or in this case, upright. I had an inspiration and didn't see a mountain range but rather a more abstract shape, and it's mirror image. Or maybe I was just really tired and was just seeing things. In any case, I suddenly saw the die in a different light, as an abstract shape. And I was itching to try this idea.  The card on the left is similar to what I had envisioned. I was thinking something more artsy and rich with texture. The picture doesn't really do it justice. The scalloped rectangle that I ran through the hammered metal folder, I flecked it with Wink of Stella to give it more depth and texture. The vellum is subtle and meant as a bridge between the 2 solid elements.  The card on the right I just wanted to try taken t

Have You Tried Slimming Down? It's a New Year

I bet that got your attention! Of course I am talking about Slimline Cards . They are new shape and style of handmade cards.  The finished size measures 3 1/2 x 8 1/2" They fit in a #9 or #10 envelope. You know the kind, You buy a box of 50 every few years to mail letters. If you didn't know a #9 envelope is just slightly smaller than a #10 and will fit inside the #10. Consider yourself educated! I tried the slimline for the first time today and I want to share with you what I learned. For the record, I had a lot of fun with this new format. Take a standard sheet of cardstock for the card base. Cut it to 7 x 8 1/2". Score on the long direction at 3 1/2". Don't make the mistake I did. I thought the finished size was 4 1/4 x 7. I cut the right way, scored the wrong direction. It was only when I was trying to use one of Stampin' Up!s new dies did I realize what I had done. No harm, no foul. I found it was easier to just cut 4" off the paper rather than s
