Milestone Birthday Card / Window Card

My friend and upline Denise, recently turned a milestone birthday. See pictures for which milestone! LOL She loves her dragonflies. So I thought why not combine dragonflies and the milestone for a beautiful card. She also loves more earthy colors. This is one of the perks of making a custom handmade card, you can get quite customized for the receiver. Card Recipe Stamps : Dragonfly Dreams 142924 $21 Inks : Soft Suede ink 147115 $7.50, Black Memento 132708 $6, Papers : Nature's Poem DSP $11 146338, Silver Foil paper 146960 $5, Whisper White 100730 $9.75, Tranquil Tide 144246 $8.50, Soft Suede 115318 $8.50, Accessories : Detailed Dragonfly dies 142749 $31, Window Sheets 142314 $5, Foam Adhesive Strips 141825 $8, Rectangles Stitched Dies 148551 $35, Burlap Ribbon For this project I did extend the window sheet beyond the cardstock frame to create a different effect. I love how that turned out. It gives a modern floating frame look to the central image. To give the

Goodbye to an Old Longstanding Friend - Lovely as a Tree

We are bidding a fond farewell to a longstanding friend of Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree 128655 wood  $28 and 127793 clear mount $20 It has been the longest running stamp set, at about 22 years I believe I heard. They made the choice not to carry it forward to what would be the new CLING mount style using red rubber stamps and no wood blocks.  Many of us are quite sad to see it go. It is being replaced with  Rooted in Nature 148217 $42 CLING mount  (originally as wood and clear mount - changing June 4, 2019) Matching dies Nature's Roots 146341 $39 Rooted in Nature is a set that I do love a lot, but there is something so classic and natural about Lovely as a Tree. I will be holding onto my set for my own personal use, like a few others that are retiring this year.  Lovely as a Tree made a great set for general items, scrapbook pages, gifts, masculine cards, sympathy, birthday for anyone, and more.

Easter Treats Sour Cream Container

I made these cute little sour cream style treats for Easter for everyone's basket this year. I made 6 baskets. Each had 2 of these containers in them. They were filled with jelly beans, of course! They are easy to make and inexpensive mass produce. You could even fill them with gifts, not just edibles like candy. Time did run short and I didn't get them decorated beyond this. I wanted to make cute Easter religious tags for each of them. Oh well. We all pretty much just tore them open and ate them right away. No one else was any the wiser. I just felt that they were incomplete. (video, when I get it processed) Project Recipe Stamps : None this time Inks : None Papers : Gingham Gala DSP designer paper $11 148554 (retired now) Accessories : Tear and Tape Adhesive 138995 $7, optional Simply Scored Tool 122334 $30 Instructions : Cut paper, DSP works easier than cardstock, to 5" x 6". Can be scaled smaller or bigger, as long as one side is 1" shor

Hope Your Day is Amazing

This card may be amazing but it was fairly simple to create. It uses products from the Garden Impressions product suite in the Occasions 2019 catalog on pages 128-130. The suite is somewhat inspired by the Impression art era. I did make this for a swap needed in April. I did find one problem to my layout. Not a super big deal, just the nature of crafting in bulk. The some of the sheets in Garden Impressions DSP designer papers are directional. Since I cut the paper 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches and then cut in half diagonally, I couldn't flip the other half because it would put the patter upside down. So I just adhered it in the upper right corner, changing the placement. It worked. Recipe: Stamps : Abstract Impressions 21 photopolymer stamps 147513 $26.00, Share What You Love stamp set (background behind the words) Inks : Memento Ink, Soft Seafoam ink Papers : Garden Impressions DSP designer papers 146289 $11.00, Soft Seafoam cardstock, Crushed Curry cardstock, Whisper White Card

New Product Alert - Genuine Gems

New stamp set alert! Coming June 4th to Stampin' Up! the stamp set Genuine Gems available for purchase. It includes 10 cling stamps. Reminder that Stampin' Up! will have only 2 styles of stamp sets - Photopolymer and Cling. Cling stamps are replacing our wood mount and clear mount. You will still need clear acrylic blocks or a Stamparatus to place your stamps on to use them. With the new Cling mount the image sheet clings to clear blocks quite well. Demonstrator Tip : Use the tip of something to release a corner of the stamp. Slowly pull the stamp off your block. Pull with too much gusto or too quickly, you may actually rip your stamp apart. When you place the stamp on the block, do not press down hard like you needed to with the old clear mount stamps on the clear acrylic blocks because they didn't stick well to the blocks. Demonstrator Tip 2: You can tint vellum. I stamped the image on top side with StaZon ink. I colored the back side of the butter fly with

Color Nerd Alert: Pantone Announces a new Prince Purple

Purple still reigns, especially for Minnesotans and Prince (musician) fans. In honor of his Purpleness, Pantone Color Institute, announce a new purple to their color charts, in honor of Prince - Love Symbol #2. It is the color of his custom Yamaha piano he owned. It looks like Stampin' Up!s recently retired Elegant Eggplant.

Apple Inspired by Stampin' Up! Colors

I had to visit Apple's Genius Bar last week for battery performance issues on my iPhone 8 plus. While I was waiting for the Genius, who was great help by the way, I noticed their display cases of in store products appeared to be inspired by Stampin' Up! colors. Or at least that is my color nerd story I am sticking to right now. I spy Whisper White, Basic Black, Gray Granite, Mint Macaron (looks like Pool Party in the pictures) , Blueberry Bushel, Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Poppy Parade, Grapefruit Grove, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Grey and more. So who inspired who? Apple inspired by Stampin' Up! or Stampin' Up! inspired by Apple? I like my version better.
