Kind Koala is Thinking of You #stampinup

Stamps: Kind Koala 134360 Inks: Memento Ink Pad 134708 Papers: Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Moonlight DSP Stack Accessories:  1 1/4 Circle Punch 119861, Brights Candy Dots 130931, Daffodil Delight Trio Blendabilities, Rich Razzleberry Trio Blendabilities (as I was posting this, I realized I may have posted this card last summer, my apologies if it is a repeat) Just a quick reminder that there is about a month left to get 12 colors of Blendabilities trio marker packs for just FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration. Please use the item numbers on page 20 of the Sale-A-Bration brochure (regular item numbers are on page 212 of the Annual Catalog). Card measures 6" x 3". Decided to change things up a bit with size, and it fit what I wanted to do, a scallop border using the circle punch. The sheet of Moonlight DSP helps carry the circle theme to the card. The Kind Koala stamp works well with Blendabilities, and other markers or coloring t

Work In Progress #stampinup

Something I just do not post on my blog much, my work in progress. Love this pattern and now struggling with where I should take it. Suggestions are most welcome.

I am having lighting issues with my pictures lately. My apologies). I like the clean crisp look of this card. Because I did keep the background with, literally, lots of white space, the eye goes to the camera right away. My little arrow punch doesn't hurt either. Yes, Sandy hand cut another stamped image. It is becoming a trend and I do not like it! It suited this card to have the camera cut. I survived the episode and so did the camera.  The camera was colored in using Blendabilities, Bermuda Bay trio 133623 (page 32 of the O

Saying Goodbye #stampinup #PLxSU #projectlifeapp

While my thoughts of the day are still fresh in my mind I quickly scrapbooked the funeral I recently attended using the Project Life App for my iPhone. I even included the card I made, mostly because it made a nice filler card for this page and added some texture. The picture in the upper right is so "Jackie". Sitting at the cabin fishing with her grandson some warm summer day recently. It just might be my favorite of her. I know I have some pictures of her, or at least I think I do, in some photo box. If she was at the cabin and there was company chances are she was in the kitchen making food, or just making sure guests had what they needed. I am blessed to have known her for 41 plus years. She is the mother of a very good friend. Blessings during this time to the family, and extended family. The Project Life kit I used was Everyday Adventure. Even though it had some vibrant colors and a lot of "happy" cards, I found some that seemed suitable to the occasi

Thinking Spring: Beautiful Blue Blooms #stampinup

Extra Large Oval punch 119859, Oval Framelits 129381, Soft Sky Blendabilities trio 133626, Wild Wasabi Blendabilities trio 133624, Decorative Dots TIEF 133520 I love the sweetness of the colors in this card. I am one not normally buying a lot of flower stamp sets (there are a large variety) for some reason I had to have this one. Maybe it is because it is simple and basic, maybe because it colors so well with Blendabilities, I don't know but I had to have it. The Wild Wasabi layer I did use a TIEF Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It needed some dimension between the focal point and the card base. This was a fairly simple card to make. The two Blendabilities featured here are 2 of the 4 new color releases from Stampin' Up! You may find them listed on page 32 of the Occasions 2015 catal

My dear friend Sandy's mom passed away suddenly last week. I have known Sandy and her family since 3rd grade when we got our Bibles together at a church. We have been friends since. I spent time at their cabin, ironically on a lake called Big Sandy. Yup. Sandy and Sandy on Big Sandy. Insert joke here  -> ________! We are Godmothers to each of our sons. She loved nature, and time outside fishing with her grandsons or just hanging out at the cabin. I will miss her. My whole family will miss her. We s

Wood You Be Mine? #lumbersexual #stampinup

Painstakingly because hand cutting is so not my thing! I popped him on the background with dimensionals. Stampin' Up! is so on trend with this stamp set.  Lumbersexual is a trendy term for guys who dress in designer flannels and jeans, who look like they should be swinging an axe but are most likely sitting in a coffee shop with their Apple laptops sipping $5 lattes. Don't believe me? Go look it up! And please please please subscribe to my feed. I post frequently and you will want to make sure you do not miss a post. Soon I will be offering a prize for my subscribers. Thank you for stopping by today. Happy Stamping and axe swinging, S

Happy Sweethearts Day - Scrapbooked! #PLxSU #stampinup #projectlifeapp

While the memories were still fresh I sat dow to scrapbook our very happy Valentine's day on Monday. We have so few dates we get an entire day! From an early dinner to coffee to concert to drinks it was a wonderful day to celebrate our relationship.   I scrapbooked this right from my phone using the #projectlifeapp and the Stampin' Up! Love Story card pack. I really wanted purple as the background color but they do not have it available yet. I have many many pages now from the last few weeks of scrapbooking, that I will need to import into My Digital Studio to print through Stampin' Up! I best do that during Sale-A-Bration and get some FREE goodies! I hope all of you had a nice day to. Smile at a stranger, it feels good inside! Thanks for stopping by, Happy Stamping, Sandy

Diva Blog Hop February - Monochromatic Magic

You should have arrived from Denise at  http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/denisewilson/blog This months blog hop features a monochromatic theme . For some reason my brain went to Ombre. Actually I have been wanting to play around with something Ombre for quite some time and the opportunity presented itself.   The first card is the one using the Starburst Framelits. To get the Ombre look start by doing this: I taped together the Framelits I wanted to use (in this case the entire set) to hold them evenly in place. Normally not a big deal especially if you are using the magnetic platform with your Big Shot, but I needed to do multiple runs through  the machine to get all my colors cut. I then ended up with this: It is on white cardstock and looks interesting enough but I felt it was lacking something. I even played with having the pieced pop off the page like a pyramid. So I summoned my artist daughters help and in seconds she figured it out. Just stagger

Mine is with out a doubt my husband. We have really tested that "..through sickness and health" vow. He is Mr. Wonderful every single day. I had fun playing with the Hearts Framelits for this card. You do have to be careful that you leave enough paper on the edge to support the card base.  I used glue dots to hold the Bakers Twine to the card front. And secured the twine on the back of the card with scotch tape. If I were giving this card to someone I would cut out another heart to cover up the tape. Maybe add something fun on the back.  The easel part was

Birthday Snapshot

Stamps: Snapshot 133812 Inks: Memento Ink pad 132708 Papers: Whisper White 10730, Smoky Slate 131202, Basic Black 121045 Accessories: On Film Framelits 132969, Alphabet Press TIEF 130916, Blendabilities Night of Navy 3 pack 131001, Smoky Slate Blendabilities 3 pack 131005 Click! I snapped a picture of you.  *smile* I love the clean crisp look of this card. The focus really is the camera. Using the On Film Framelit I created a polaroid looking frame for the camera. I used regular tape to attach it to the back of the frame. The ABC TIEF just gives it some texture without taking away from the focal point. And of course I colored in the camera using Blendabilities in Night of Navy and Smoky Slate. Thanks for stopping by today. Happy stamping, Sandy

Two Hearts Become One - Memories

There are positives to deep cleaning and purging your house in prep for a major move. Hubs came across these precious items this past weekend. 18 years and holding steady. The A Royal Wedding was software I used to plan the wedding. I was geek chic before it was chic. I computerized what I could even back in 1995/96. Back when the internet was a barren wasteland compared to today. I did also use a very nice spiral bound planner to carry around necessary wedding plans. Now I would imagine most brides use software, or apps, or websites where it is all "in the cloud". And the "Two Hearts Become One" disc (perish the thought of using a 3.5" disc, or even being able to read it today) was our wedding favor with our love story on it. I was paper crafting even then, making all 175 paper disc holders. My mom helped me glue the little puff of tulle on, which matched my dress, and the red satin ribbon rose, which matched our two hearts/rose theme. Little did we kno

ACT 1: Be Prepared!

Proud Mamma moment of the week!  My son was asked to take the ACT test early, 9th grade because of his ACT Explore score.  He didn't prep, nor agonize over the test, rather "I came, I saw, I did my best!" for the test. He is a good test taker and a smart kid. If he ever gets organized with his schoolwork, the world will be his oyster. Page was done quickly using the Project Life App on my iPhone.  #PLxSU.  Project Life and Stampin' Up! makes for quick and easy scrapbooking. Have you scrapped today? Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping and Project Life exploring, Sandy

Because We Are Friends

After spending many hours shopping with my friend Jeny at Ikea today I came home and whipped up this #projectlifeapp page to journal/scrapbook why we are friends.  Besides the fact that we are both artsy craftsy and we have a love for Ikea I thought it important to note how and why we became friends.  Have you documented why you have certain people in your life?  Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping and #PLxSU, Sandy

Dreaming of White Tufted Leather Couch

I have been dreaming of a white tufted leather couch ever since I saw one at IKEA. Why does this call to me so much? I love leather for couches. especially since we have pets (cats). I liked the IKEA one a bit but for some crazy ol reason I have to have one when we redecorate this summer. Yes I am hiring a decorator. It is not as expensive as you think and they will do the planning and give advice on furniture, textiles and more. It's cheaper than this one ottoman I want but will hold off purchasing as it probably won't work for what I want anyway. A few bucks for sound advice is so much better than having to repaint or buying the wrong furniture. Honestly I wish I had done this with my living room years ago. It's not a snooty thing it's a smart choice.  Here are my picks so far. Maybe the decorator will laugh at me, maybe not.  The third one really fits our family and the fifth one will probably what the decorator recomme

You Warm My Heart Card

Stamps: Sheltering Tree 137163 Inks: Memento Ink Pad Papers: Whisper White cardstock, Melon Mambo cardstock, Pink Pirouette cardstock, Silver Glitter cardstock Accessories: Glue Dots, Dimensionals 104430, Sweetheart punch 133786, Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack 133787, Happy Hearts TIEF 137364 I saw a similar layout card on Pinterest recently. The artist had used a row of pretty flowers instead of hearts. I thought the hearts would be fun in honor of Valentine's Day.   The white layer is cut 4" x 10 1/2". Then a 2" section is removed. I was then able to use that section and trim it down for the hearts TIEF (Textured Impressions Embossing Folder) layer. Talk about making use of your scraps!  Not big on Valentine's Day I sure keep using this TIEF again and again. I am not sure I will be putting it away after February 14th either.  I can see using this layout for many things. A row of Easter eggs. A row of pumpkins. A row of Christmas tre

It is such an easy technique too.  You just lay all your Framelits, of like kind (hearts, circles, whatever), and run them through the Big Shot twice, using different paper each time. As my daughter says, it gives it almost an optical illusion using such bold papers. I would imagine using similar colors the effect would be much more subtle.  I like the crisp clean colors of this card. Graphic might be a better description. Because the focal point is the layered heart I chose to keep the background and the greetin

Blendabilities: Refresh, Renew Rejoice

Stamps: Blended Bloom 135106, Indescribable Gift 137180 Inks: Memento Ink pad 132708 Paper: Whisper White, Smokey Slate Accessories: ZigZag TIEF 133738, Decorative Label punch 120907, White Jute Ribbon 137904, Pumpkin Pie 130997 and Daffodil Delight 130998 Blendabilities, Rhinestones I love the saying from the Indescribable Gift stamp set from the Occasions 2015 catalog on page 35.  It is short, very sweet and to the point. The bloom is so pretty is handcut and layered on this simple background. The jute ribbon adds a subtle soft interesting texture to the card. On the bloom I used both colors of Blendabilities listed. Starting with the darkest pumpkin pie and working toward the yellow. It created colors reminiscent of a summer zinnia flower. Reminder: Blendabilities are on page 20 of the Sale-A-Bration brochure as a FREE with $50 order item. They are also on page 166-167, 212 of the Annual Catalog. 4 new colors on page 32 Occasions 2015 catalog.   I love blending in. S
