I am not a kit sort of crafter. Maybe in the 70s and 80s I used kits, but fast forward to present day and I prefer to go it alone and just create from my imagination. I am a kinesthetic learner, so I am told. But given my present day circumstances of being short on time, due to recovery from two knee surgeries and the fact that Stampin' Up! has some adorable kits right now, ahem, I love kits!!!
For my daughters upcoming Sweet 16 birthday I made her an album using the Mini Memories Simple Created Kit. It contains everything you need to make a cute album or easy gift. At $13.95 item #133332 is a true value. Included: chipboard covers, bakers twin, punch out sheets of embellishments, sequins and other embellishments, rings, double sided papers including shiny vellum and more. I put this together in about 2 hours. It took longer to decide and print what pictures to include.
At the top of this post you can see three pictures of what is included in the kit. Above you can see some of the finished pages. I went outside of my comfort zone and wrote in my own handwriting in the album. Most of my scrapbooking is done using My Digital Studio which means all text is typed. Experts recommend including some of your own handwriting in your albums.
My daughter has some more pictures to add, but she loved her album. It is ages about 8-16. She enjoyed pouring over the memories as she looked at the album. What a nice keepsake for her. And since it is 5 x 7, makes it very portable, like for a dorm room.
