Cute packaging for my Miche hostess gift. Makes it even more special.

I made these cute little purse boxes as door prizes for my Miche home party for Christina Saturday night. They contain a variety of Dove chocolates. What lady doesn't love chocolates and an evening of shopping for purses. To make the boxes I used the Big Shot dies fancy favor box and top note and fun flowers all from Stampin' Up! I recommend sticky strip tape to adhere project together. Other than the favor box out of crumb cake cardstock the DSP were from Summer Smooches pack. The brad in the middle of the flower I pierced a hole all the way through the box to make sure it stays in place. I did spritz the flower with homemade glitter mist made with rubbing alcohol and our shimmer paint mixed together in the Stampin' Spritzer. Thank you Julianne for showing us Divas this technique! To make your faux ribbons you will need a variety of Big Shot embossing folders, and a variety of cardstock scraps or cut to varying widths. Here I used the chevron, argyle, stripe, and dotted folders from Stampin' Up! Run each strip through the selected embossing folder. To make the split tongue points, or whatever the technical name is, cut up middle of the short end of cardstock as deep as you want your points. Cut from outer corner in at a diagonal to end of your center cut from each corner. Or if your really clever you can use a square punch at an angle on the ends. This is an easy technique that does not require a lot of supplies or skill. You will need a Big Shot and embossing folder and an ink pad a d a piece of cardstock pre cut to desired size. A brayer is not necessary but can help. Ink up the inside bottom (smooth side) of your embossing folder. You can use a brayer to apply ink or direct pad to folder method. Place cardstock in folder and run through Big Shot. Open folder right away to keep from paper bumping and shifting in folder and creating a shadow look. It is a nice look but not what we were trying to achieve here. Ink should be dry right away but make sure before placing paper on your project. The best looks with this technique are achieved with colors close to each other or the same on the color wheel. Such as here I used very vanilla and Sahara sand. Call it complimentary colors.
