Over the Moon Baptism

My friend Jeny has been making a lot of cards for a church quilt group she participates in and makes quilts for baptisms. They have been commissioning her to make handmade cards to go with the quilts that they give the newly baptized, children and adults. More Gorgeous Diva Swaps

I had to miss the March Diva Downline meeting because I was driving my daughter back to college in a snowstorm, 10 hours in the car for what should have been less than five hours round trip. I was just glad to be home in my own bed that night, and not in a hotel or in a ditch. My friend Jeny brought over the swaps so I could see them. They are all so darn gorgeous! I hope she turns them into beautiful cards. If you follow my website you know our group switch, or is trying for a time, 3x4 sized swaps. That way those that want to use them as cards can do so. Those that want to use them on a scrapbook can do so. They can be used as they wish. The March theme was Thinking of You. February theme was Birthday. See them here! Our next swap will be at my house and the theme is Masculine, but not for a long while. Jeny has hers done (Brat!). Mine is just a To Do task right now, but I do need to get it done in the next week. Why so early? As I mentioned to my hubs just a few days a...

Tool Box: Bring Your Own Adhesives: Sticky Assistance

Tool Box: Bring Your Own Adhesives: Sticky Assistance The following tools are not, well most of them are not, adhesives. But I highly recommend keeping them in your crafters tool box. They are a great associate tool for your adhesives! Adhesive Remover 103684 $3.50 Removes unsightly adhesive. Works like an eraser. 1 remover. 2" x 2".   Since you mostly use the corners, and they get all gooped up, just trim off the overused section. Works well with SNAIL, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Foam Adhesive strips, Tear & Tape and to some degree Green Glue. Not terribly affective on Fast Fuse or Fin-Tip Glue, likely to tear your paper or leave a residue. Silicone Craft Sheet 127853 $6.00 Drop a dot of adhesive on sheet; assemble embellishment; let glue dry; pop off creation! Works with any of our adhesives. 1 sheet. 6" x 6". While this is not an adhesive, it is an important tool related to adhesive use. It protects your surfaces and makes for e...

Say My Name!

Both my children have over the years developed nicknames for each other. Some days I wonder if they even remember what their actual names are, but thats okay. Given their history of at times loathing each other, I consider this phase "terms of affection". And actually the history of the names are quite clever.  My son, whom my daughter at one point in their fiery history called him Unknown, as in "I don't know you, you don't know me, and and you don't exist in my world". they were ages 10 and 12 or 11 and 13. He had a series of short lived nicknames after that, until he became "MUD". Mud is based on a Calvin & Hobbes comic she was reading at the time. Calvin comes into his dad one day and says "call me Sir....." and listed off about 10 names. His dad turns to him and says "I shall call you Mud". And thus he became MUD! Which I took to quite well, and add on MUD 007, because he was a huge Bond fan for many years,...

New Sale-A-Bration Items Added!!!

Because Stampin' Up! has sold out of 2 favorite FREE items so quickly and we still have ten days left to Sale-A-Brate, they added 7 new items today. Actually the items are not new, they are already catalog items, but i am in love with being able to get them for FREE now. Yes, even as a demonstrator, sometimes I am careful with my purchases! I said sometimes, not all the time. LOL The designer papers are in the Occasions 2017 catalog, the folders are new this year to the Annual Catalog, and of which i recently purchased myself. Yes, purchased, when I could have gotten them for FREE! The Washi Tape is also from the Occasions catalog and goes with the Party Animal paper. Place a $100 and get both for FREE. And it never hurts to have more cardstock in the In Colors.  I was one of the fortunate ones to get one of the last packs of the Sale-A-Bration glimmer paper. Do I hoard it? Do I give it away? Do I use it? What should I do????? Weigh in in the comments what you think...
