All That Glitters - 50th Anniversary

My in-laws 50th anniversary is this week. Of course I couldn't do just ONE card!

I had trouble photographing all the shine. Goodness in one of the now deleted photos you could see my reflection and all my splendor. 😳

This card was so front heavy with all the layers it kept tipping over. It weighed quite a bit more than the box card.

And such a simple word that means so much in 50 years of marriage.

Yes I used vellum and the new frames TIEF which I had to hand cut the vellum and the gold layer to get it to work right.

The front layer, the one that looks like gold striped paper? You won't find it in the catalog. In fact, unless I get ambitious, it won't be seen again. I ran Whisper White cardstock using the Stylish Stripes TIEF 132174 through the Big Shot. I then ran a piece of the Gold Foil Sheet 132622 doing the same thing using a bigger piece. I then hand cut the stripe inserts. It was trial and error. I am sure there are easier ways to do it than I did. But this was a one time card. It was worth the time.

Did you know GOLD is very popular in home decor and fashion at the moment? Stampin' Up! Is on trend with all the gold offerings. Pages 193 and 206 have all that glitters. Shop today!

Ack! You can see me reflected. Crazy! Not sure how I can avoid that. It's pretty funny.

I just love the simplicity of this card. It might be my favorite. It certainly was the quickest!

The & TIEF has many uses. Anniversary or wedding is just one idea.

Staying with the same theme of gold foil paper, vellum, whisper white and embossing I had to make a trendy pop up box card. Had to be done!

The side 3 flaps are Very Vanilla to boost color and soften the contrast of the Whisper White / Gold combo. I used a TIEF that just retired. It was scripty letters.

To again soften the impact of the gold foil paper I put it around the bottom of the box rather than the flaps. That is all you would have seen if I had placed it there.

Layers!!! That is the key to impact on the pop up box. I used a circle as continuity to attach all in the pop up section. Otherwise it would have just looked to busy.

Thank you for stopping by. Please ask if you have any questions on supplies used or the how to on these three items. The supply list is long and rather than type it all up I thought I had better get this posted and if anyone wants it then I can post it.

Oh pooh. Convention is going on now and for the first time in since 2010 I am not there. I will be next year!

Happy stamping, Sandy
