Goodbye to an Old Longstanding Friend - Lovely as a Tree

We are bidding a fond farewell to a longstanding friend of Stampin' Up!

Lovely as a Tree 128655 wood  $28 and 127793 clear mount $20

It has been the longest running stamp set, at about 22 years I believe I heard. They made the choice not to carry it forward to what would be the new CLING mount style using red rubber stamps and no wood blocks.

Many of us are quite sad to see it go. It is being replaced with

Rooted in Nature 148217 $42 CLING mount
(originally as wood and clear mount - changing June 4, 2019)
Matching dies Nature's Roots 146341 $39

Rooted in Nature is a set that I do love a lot, but there is something so classic and natural about Lovely as a Tree. I will be holding onto my set for my own personal use, like a few others that are retiring this year.

Lovely as a Tree made a great set for general items, scrapbook pages, gifts, masculine cards, sympathy, birthday for anyone, and more. It just works. I do understand though that Rooted in Nature with matching dies, just gives it more possibilities. Though I fussy cut a lot of Lovely as a Tree over the years. It was one of the first sets I purchased, along with Love without End, which I also still have, and love for its simplicity.

As of today May 28, 2019, I noticed Lovely as a Tree is gone from inventory. A sad moment, lets pause to pay our respects to our fallen friend. Lol

Hold on to that stamp set if you have it. Go give it some love today.

Happy stamping, Sandy
