(You have arrived from Denise if you are following the Diva Blog Hop)
January is a new year and that means a new Occasions Catalog from Stampin' Up! Our blog hop theme is month is New.
I am excited for "new" Blendabilities colors, like the new Pink Pirouette trio from Stampin' Up! As luck would have it I actually won the stamp set I will be using and the Blendabilities trio pack at a special new catalog launch party Stampin' Up! threw for us Demonstrators. It was almost as if the prize was hand picked.
For this card I hand cut, yes hand cut, the flowers. If you have been following my blog for a while or if you have crafted with me you know that I don't do hand cut. I feel that is why punches and Framelits were invented. The soft hand cut pink flowers really stand out against the black of the cardstock though.
Here are a few more samples using the same stamp set

When coloring with Blendabilities, it is a personal choice whether you start with the light, medium or dark color of the trio and work your way lighter or darker. I tend to start with the dark, then light and fill in with the medium shade. I often go back with the dark and deepen it after my image has dried. That is the beauty of coloring and blending with Blendabilities. You can gradate.
Starting this month, January, there are 4 NEW Blendabilites trio packs available - Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky 133626, Bermuda Bay 133623 available, on top of the 12 already great colors in the Annual Catalog page 212. In fact, you can earn 12 of the color trio packs FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order through March 31st. See page 20 of the Sale-A-Bration brochure for correct item numbers (if you use the items numbers in the Annual Catalog they will be the normal $11.95/per pack price).
I love the graphic look of these two cards. Bold and crisp look softened by the softness of Pink Pirouette.
