2016 Year End Family Summary

I know I keep talking about the Project Life Squared Away 16 layout but it works well for so many things. Here is a compilation of our big year of big events and big trips. There are 12 squares around the center square. So I picked either pictures or a page that best represents that month. This layout would also be a great layout for baby's first year. Or, something I will eventually get to, all the school years, and put the senior picture in the middle.

Because of being able to literally save memories from anywhere (scrapbooking on the go) from my phone, iPad or whatever. I have staying fairly current. I only have our two big trips to complete. And both of them will be a mix of retired My Digital Studio and the Project Life App. And a fair amount of 2015 is completed and some of 2014 is done too. And thats probably good because those 3 years have been very heavy on events and memories.  I never thought I would see myself somewhat on top of happenings. I won't address the entire storage area under the stairs of tub after tub of pictures, honestly though, a lot of it is my parents stuff. My family and then their stuff before that, and the box after box of awards my dad got from work and golfing. I am researching on what to do with some of these items. This is an item I will be coming back to in future posts, as I figure out a workable solution. Right now that storage area contains an awful lot of precious cargo. I want to hang a sign on the door that says "firefighters: save this first, skip the house!". And Im not really joking about that either.

I have always wanted to do a year end compilation page or pages. It has been on my to do list for years. Guess 2016 is the beginning of a beautiful habit. And it will be so fun to share with others and my family. I might print a copy for my in-laws album I started for them this Christmas (it was their gift). At their age, there isn't much to gift them, and they live in a tiny apartment, except memories and sharing events of family near and far. My mother was never interested in stuff like this, and I didn't know until we moved in her house, when I found all the albums and pictures we shared with her just shoved in drawers not really opened. Sigh. To each his own. I know my in-laws will love it. As they kept their own wedding album on their living room coffee table until the day they moved out of their house.

I would love to see or hear about any year end compilation pages you have done in the past. Or does future self now want to go make one for 2016? Please share in comments below. And be sure to subscribe to get notices when I post new stuff.

And even though 2016 saw a lot of tragedy from night club shootings, police shootings, celebrity deaths and more sadness than any single year should, our family thrived and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, as evident in the single page above.

Here is to a happy and successful 2017 for all of us. God bless you all!

Thank you for stopping by. Sandy

Update: In-laws love love love the album we started for them and are anxiously awaiting more pages! Does my heart good to hear this.
