Last Sunday, April 30th, was Diva Day. That is what we call my uplines (manager type level) monthly group meetings. It was held at my house! I will be posting separately about my updated studio and about some of the decorations I made for Diva Day. We had, at my request, a Cinqo de Mayo themed meeting. Yes, there were margaritas. Yes to guacamole. The whole enchilada, as it were.
If you are a regular blog follower you know that we have changed up how we do swaps this year. We now swap 3x4, which is a little bigger than an ATC, Artists Trading Cards, in size. It really does make for quick work of turning them into full cards. I was not part of the original discussion as to why they switch off full cards as shoebox swaps, where we go around and make each others cards, but this has been working. And it makes it easier to change it slightly if I need it for a slightly different purpose.
This month the theme was male/masculine/guy.
My swap is shown above. And boy, I already have the perfect use for it, and I am glad a I have a few extras too. Because I will need them.
Supplies: My Hero RMHC stamp set (not retiring), Lucky Stars embossing folder (retiring)
Because I tend to go all out on stuff, for those that know me, know this is true. I won't deny it. I realized we needed bags to hold our swaps to take them home. Why use plastic ziplock bags when something cuter will do. This little gift bags are retired, or retiring from Stampin' Up! I am going to go with that they retired a few years ago. But the Birthday Fiesta stamp set llama and coordinating framelits is available until May 31st. Sad to see them go. I have had a lot of fun this last year with this bundle. I have not checked the availability list to see if the coordinating framelits are still in stock. Shop now to check.
Here, this shows the size of the cute bags. And yes, I made a lot more decorations. They held all 13 swaps nicely. And are stinking cute if I do say so myself.
Here are all the swaps. We always plan for 15. Sometimes we have 15, sometimes 12. It works. Its not like any of us can't find a use for the extras.
(I am going to botch who was who's. Since I was host, I was up and down a lot when we were making them. I will correct the names when I get schooled by someone in the group.) I have corrected them now.
Top Row: Julianne, Autumn, Sue L, Deb
Middle Row: Cyndi, Denise, Marilyn, Pam, Jeny
Bottom Row: Vicki, Sandy, Nancy, Amy
They are all beautiful. I love that they all have a very different feel. Some of the ladies even used new products available in the Annual Catalog starting June 1st! My swap had been completed since Mid March because I was going to be out of town so much and then had to get the house Diva ready.
Next Diva meeting, which isn't for a long time, is patriotic. There are ideas rolling around in my head already.
I hope this provides some inspiration for Fathers Day cards, or birthdays or whatever reason you need to give your guy a card, like, just because he is cool!
Thanks for stopping by. Keep being creative, Sandy
