MDS Tuesday - Birthday Wishes 8

Tuesday is My Digital Studio Day! Yippee! or something like that. That means there are new MDS downloads available here.

I am still working from backward forward on pictures. It has been quite fun reliving old memories and looking at pictures. Really it wasn't that long ago, but seeing the change in Blake it sure seems like it. This was 5 years ago. I chose the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP in several different patterns and used a few of the embellishments. By changing the opacity on the background sheet it changed the look from being so baby shower looking. Gave it a subtle texture. And the stars and splashes really don't add anything visually other than an accent to draw the eye to the picture. The 8 tag is made with one of the tags, DSP, the sun embellishment, a circle punch behind the 8 punch. By using the sun this way it just looks like rays coming out from the number. And I chose a single picture. I may add another page with a few of the other pictures, but not sure they really add to the event.

I wanted to take a minute and talk about pictures in My Digital Studio and why I love it so much. In traditional scrapbooking, unless you are an expert and want to take a lot of time resizing your pictures ahead of making your page, and you really really know what you are doing, you are pretty much stuck to your standard 4x6 printout. In MDS I love it because I bring in a picture box, and maybe resize it. Drag in my picture. From there I can zoom in or out a bit and move it around in the picture window. If I don't like how it crops, I delete it and start over, resizing the picture window to suit what I think I want as a crop in my picture. I love love love this about MDS. Being able to crop, which is essentially what you are doing when you drag your pictures into the photo box, rather than bring your picture into a separate program, edit it, to what you think will work on your page, and print or print and then cut. Costly, and doesn't always suit your page. This way I drag, zoom, move, crop, or whatever in just a few keystrokes, and costs NOTHING! Just a few seconds of my time.

Check out the downloads. How have you scrapped your kids birthday pictures?

Thank you for stopping by, happy stamping, Sandy
